CALGARY — Nothing is more important to parents and teachers than the knowledge that their little ones will get into the classroom safely. ENCOM Wireless is proud to introduce Safe School, a Web-enabled and Ethernet-based school-zone flashing beacon system that's simple, versatile and flexible.

The Safe School system uses ENCOM's own ZoneWatch software, and is powered by ENCOM's Web I/O technology, which provides simple and versatile control of up to 255 remote flashing beacons within a 20-mile (32-kilometre) radius. Flashers, with an ENCOM COMMPAK I/O 8 contact closure radio aboard, can be controlled instantly, and can also be programmed with individual schedules 365 days a year, thanks to ENCOM's custom programming options.
ENCOM's cutting-edge, user-friendly ZoneWatch software uses also two-way wireless communication to provide remote beacon status updates, system-wide monitoring, and information logs for every flasher on the system.
"Imagine the efficiencies this creates for the administrators of a Safe School system," notes Szgatti, "when they can program a 24/7/365 schedule for every school-zone flashing beacon on the system — and, with a few keystrokes, can download that schedule system-wide."
Safe School is a perfect option for new school-zone flashing beacon systems and is also a simple retrofit for existing systems, communicating either to 120 VAC or solar-powered flashers.
ZoneWatch software and the Web I/O — which combines a Web server and a powerful 900 MHz ENCOM radio — are both available through ENCOM's distributor network as of Aug. 1, 2009.
