Model 5000 ESS - Ethernet (Serial Server)

Add new or existing ENCOM 5000 Series wireless serial (RS-232) modems to an Ethernet (TCP/IP) network using the Model 5000ESS as an Ethernet Serial Server (ESS).

The 5000ESS, as the master radio, bridges the gap between Ethernet and Serial communications providing a Wireless Ethernet gateway for communication to remote serial-based (RS-232) devices.

Take advantage of your Ethernet communications backbone without having to change all the field devices to support an Ethernet interface. Built around ENCOM’s field proven wireless technology, the 5000ESS provides seamless wireless Ethernet connectivity through an integrated Ethernet Serial Server (ESS). The 5000ESS connects directly to any 10/100 Ethernet network and communicates to all ENCOM 5000 Series Serial wireless through a virtual comm. port setup on the server.
