Model 5170 (RS-232) – 170 Pluggable Wireless Modem
The ENCOM Model 5170 is for easy use with ALL 170 Traffic Controllers. This is due to the fact that the ENCOM Model 5170 is designed to plug directly into the 400 modem slot in the 170 controller. This allows the ultimate in flexibility for controller interconnect applications and eliminating data cables and external power supplies. The ENCOM Model 5170 Wireless Modem Rack Card is convenient and easy to use and gives the options of being used as a Master, Remote or Repeater.
The ENCOM Model 5170 provides RS-232 communications only. For 170 applications with FSK, see the Model 5171. Applications include Point-to-multipoint RS-232 wireless interconnect for 170 Controllers.

Configuration of the ENCOM Model 5170 is simple and straight forward, with the included Windows™ based “plug and play” software. The 170 Controller interconnect application includes a prebuilt, pretested application file. This allows "plug and play" setup for your specific controller.
